I wonder what they used for the essential part the twisted rope or leather? That make's the catapult to throw

The torsion parts of most catapults were made of hair or leather. On the sides there are tensioning wheels. These would be tightened up with the throwing arm in the upright position, so that when the arm was pulled down it created the necessary torsion to throw the arm forward after it was released.

The ist half of my 1/72nd seige park finished.
