Base of Battle of Hastings

I've just finished the base for my battle of Hastings. Seize is 45 cm -75cm. The pictures are no of the best quality.
It's probably going to take ages to get the figures painted, but who cares

I've just went once again through my Valdemar collection but only found two figures that I felt were useful for this diorama (both from the peasant army on the march (if I remember correctly). It's a pity that there are no other early medieval figures in the range so far.

First figures added to the base. Mostly taken from Strelets.

Looks good so far. You could also use a few of the hat El Cid range..

Well I know that one other manufacturer has planned to release 1-2 sets on the subject 1066 Hastings, so there should be some good news shortly

A few sets of Valdemar figures would be the absolute best for this topic.

Very nice fighting scene indeed, I always love these close man-man batles dioramas as it gives the feeling of the bloody medieval battlefield... maybe time to do a new battleset soon...

very very beautiful dio!!!
by chance STRELETS released a large range of Normans and Saxons...
For my own, I love them, so I'm not very objective....

Using Hat "El Cid" as Normans is a great idea Paul!

If I understood, Jens do some "arrangement" with other manufacturers (Andi from Kamar, no? ) so we can be sure to find some new "Dark Ages" sets....
