I can find lots of tutorials about water creating..picture or video, depends on how big or small they should be.

Thanks Paul, I know that the web contains a lot of things about it. Unfortunately I do not have much time to devote to this research. However I am interested in the creation of a small river to be placed in the moat around a castle.

The site has lots and lots of usefull tutorials..mainly largescale minis but for the landscaping the techniques are very similar.

I have tried the water from a bottle and it is very easy to use indeed. Initially you do create the river with sand, rocks, etc. Then you pour in the "water" and if you need it to be moving you can use a small cloth and gently touch the surface. When dry you can highlight with white to create the effects of foam.

Easy actually

Best regards
