wel Jens, there are so few ships of the medieval period in 1/72 scale............ The ship San Gabriel is declared by Zvezda 1/100, but in some article on the web I read that an expert, based on measurements, said to be the ship in scale 1/75.

Zvezda seem to have a bit of a problem when it comes to thier deciding what scale thier models are. The Cog is bigger than the 1/72nd it´s been labelled as, even 28mm figs look at home on it, and thier figs, although just about still 1/72nd are bigger than most.
From your pictures the ship looks bigger than 1/100. Is it possible to put a couple of 1/72nd figures onboard the ship and show us a photo?

good idea Paul, i'll do as soon as possible (now i'm at work). Undoubtedly, the two doors to the rooms are a bit low for figures 1/72, but normally the doors on ships are lower. In addition, the lifeboat, compared to medieval lifeboat is considerably smaller.

here are the pictures. it is evident that for sure the ship is small for figures 1/72 and probably 1/75.

Hey..I recognise them
They do look a bit big for the ship...that would mean Zvezda were right..shame. I was hoping they would be wrong.Still..it´s a very nice ship and i might get one someday.

Well I actually already did the knarr

medieval knarr
Initial paint knarr project
Knarr painted
and it is beautiful and the Kogge is one of my many future projects. These ships are by the way highly recommendable and I think that KAMAR has them in stock.
